GaN is different from most other class D technologies in the fact that they operate at much higher switching speeds resulting in higher efficiency, allowing for higher frequency operation and a cleaner signal. In less technical terms, it means this class D actually sounds like music, not cold and lifeless. 

Now pair this with your choice of 45, 2A3, or 300B input stage and you have a very capable amplifier that preserves the richness and airy midrange of tubes without sacrificing on damping factor and dynamic control.

Features

The Master DHT/GaN FET Hybrid accepts either the 45, 2A3, or 300B in the input stage and is coupled with a GaN FET amplifier module utilizing some of the latest technology. 

The GaN FET output stage is fed by a GaN bipolar LLC resonant converter power supply while the DHT input stage has a separate Class A power supply utilizing high current toroidal transformers and a choke filtered CLC design. Filaments are also supplied by a regulated DC supply. 

There are both balanced and unbalanced inputs on the rear panel to work well with any preamplifier. 

To improve pairing the amplifier also has a rear mounted switch to adjust between 3 different gain settings; Low (26dB), Medium (28dB), and High (32dB).
